Whiskey Sour by Matthew Jannotta

Celebrate National Whiskey Sour Day, August 25, with Local Mixologist Matthew Jannotta and Maker’s Mark!

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz Maker’s Mark whiskey

  • ¾ ounce simple syrup

  • ¾ ounce lemon juice

  • 1 egg white

  • Maraschino cherry

  • Lemon peel

  • Angostura bitters

Instructions:

  1. Drop egg white into a cocktail shaker. Add lemon, simple, and whiskey. Shake without ice for about 12 seconds or until mixture is very frothy.

  2. Add a small amount of ice. Shake for another 12 second or until extra frothy.

  3. Strain into a coupe glass, or a rocks glass with ice.

  4. Garnish with a Luxardo cherry and express lemon peel.

  5. Add three drops of angostura bitters and use a toothpick to make a swirl, or other pattern.

  6. Serve and enjoy!
